Aircraft Management and Charter Revenue
Aircraft Management Services
Desert Jet offers personalized aircraft management programs to fit your specific needs. We specialize in managing aircraft based in the desert seasonally and in other regions convenient to the aircraft owner during the summer months, as well as managing aircraft based in other locales.
Our aircraft management team includes three aircraft managers who hold the NBAA “Certified Aviation Manager” (CAM) status. This certification is granted by the National Business Aviation Association to select aviation industry professionals that have demonstrated their expertise in managing all aspects of the operations of business aircraft. Two additional Certified Aviation Managers are being brought on board this summer in anticipation of increased demand for our management services.
Desert Jet is the only aircraft charter company in the country that permits only certified managers to handle the management of client’s multi-million dollar assets, giving clients access to the highest level of aircraft management services available.
We provide a wide range of management services for our clients, designed to operate your aircraft under the highest safety standards while enabling you to enjoy substantial savings on the costs of operation. The following is a brief overview of some of our standard offerings. Please contact us and we’ll provide a custom solution that meets your needs.
Full Aircraft Management
Full aircraft management is the simplest way for most of our clients to fully enjoy their ownership experience. We manage all aspects of the operation of your aircraft, including;
- Crew selection, management and training
- Maintenance scheduling and oversight, including invoice settlements
- Asset value retention
- Reduction or elimination of state sales and use tax liabilities
- Insurance coverage through Desert Jet’s flexible fleet policy
- Storage of aircraft, including hangar
- Reduced fuel costs, pilot simulator training, insurance and maintenance services through our fleet purchasing program
- Safety Management System implementation
- Regulatory compliance (FAA, DOT, OSHA, IS-BAO, ICAO, etc.)
Charter Management
Charter managed aircraft clients enjoy all the benefits and services offered to fully managed aircraft, but with one important additional feature – the ability to offset fixed expenses during aircraft idle time with charter revenue.
Our charter client list includes high net worth individuals and successful businesses, so your aircraft is treated with care and respect during charter operations. We carefully schedule aircraft charters so your personal flight schedule is never interrupted. In those cases when you might have a last-minute need for your aircraft while it is flying a charter, we have interchange agreements with other aircraft in our fleet to accommodate your needs. Our interchange agreements also allow you to fly on a larger or smaller aircraft when your own aircraft isn’t just right for the mission.
Custom Aircraft Management and Consultation Services
For those clients that don’t need the full range of management services offered, we are happy to provide a customized program to suit your needs.
Perhaps you have a flight crew in place already that manages the day-to-day operation of your aircraft? We can provide offsite support to your flight department that helps them focus less on desk duties and more on the safety and details of your flight.
Perhaps you are both the aircraft owner as well as the pilot? We can provide support assistance such as maintenance tracking and scheduling, negotiation of lower operating costs associated with your personal and business flights, as well as turbine transition training and ongoing mentoring and guidance as your experience level grows.
We also provide consultation services on an as-needed basis. Some of the services we provide include;
- Buyer’s Agent Services
- Pre-Purchase Inspections
- Crew Search and Placement Services
- Professional Pilot Services
- Turbine Transition Training
- Initial Operating Experience training for crew new to type or seat
- Mentoring for pilots new to turbine equipment
- Safety and operational review of your existing flight department
- Consultation for start-up flight departments
In addition, we can advise you on the various private jet transportation options available today, such as fractional share ownership, local shared ownership/partnership, dry lease, charter, block charter, jet card purchase and whole aircraft ownership. Depending upon your travel needs, a combination of several of these options might be the best fit for you, or perhaps just one will best suit your needs.
Use caution when you read that there is a “best” option if you fly less than 50 hours per year, or that another option is best if you fly over 100 hours per year, etc. These generic recommendations don’t fit all circumstances. It’s best to have your personal aviation advisor thoroughly understand the entire picture of your travel needs to recommend the best model of private travel. Please contact us and we’ll be happy to provide you with a free evaluation of your current aviation travel solution.
